*The 14.4/28.8/33.6 Modem pools, available in some communities, are equipped with older, analog modems
from the mid to late 1990's. These modems do not support 56k connections, but because they
were designed in a different era, these systems often provide more reliable connections
for customers on rural lines or those who do not yet have 56k modems.

This legacy equipment is maintained as an alternative for customers who experience
more stable connections when dialing into the slower-speed modem equipment.

If you experience frequent unexpected disconnects or routinely connect at a speed lower than 34,667, you
should consider trying the slow-speed modem pool, if one is available in your community, to see
if it improves the stability of your dial-up connection.
